At Yangji Gamjatang, the menu is a welcoming journey through Korean comfort food. Their signature Gamjatang impresses with tender, meaty pork bones simmered slowly in a flavorful broth, infused with aromatic spices and accompanied by tender potatoes that soak up every drop of the stew’s essence. Don’t miss their Maeun Cheese Gori Galbijim, a spicy short rib dish lavishly topped with melted cheese that wraps around each bite with a luscious, creamy contrast to the bold meat flavors.
Other standout offerings include the Blood Sausage Soup and the Haejangguk Hangover Soup, both deeply satisfying and hearty, perfect to renew your energy and warm you from within. If you’re craving something lighter yet equally authentic, the cold Naengmyon (Korean cold noodles) refreshes the palate with its delicate textures and subtle seasoning, while the Seafood & Scallion Pancake delights with a crispy exterior and briny, savory interior.
For those who appreciate variety, Yangji Gamjatang offers an impressive array of traditional sides and extras—from fermented kimchi and crisp leaf vegetables for wrapping, to the indulgently soft tofu stew and the nostalgic Korean-style Omelette Rice (Omurice). The spicy sweet and sour chicken is also a fan favorite, offering a zesty kick that perfectly balances sweet and heat.
The drink selection complements the meals beautifully, with unique choices like Ito En Black Tea Milk and Matcha Milk Tea, which provide a cool, refreshing foil to the hearty, savory dishes.
Patrons often rave about the sheer generosity of portions and the authentic taste that transports you directly to Korea. Alejandro Foucault Monterrey enthused about the bibimbap here as “incredible,” praising not only the food but also the flawless service and inviting ambiance. While some visitors noted the challenge of parking and wished for a few more veggies in certain dishes, the overall consensus is that Yangji Gamjatang delivers warmly satisfying meals that keep guests coming back.
Whether you’re seeking a fulfilling gamjatang experience or exploring the diverse flavors of Korean ribs and side dishes, Yangji Gamjatang offers a compelling combination of tradition, taste, and genuine hospitality. It’s more than just a meal—it’s a deep dive into Korean culinary culture that leaves an impression long after the last bite.
Incredible bibimbap, and the side dishes were great too. Both the service and ambiance were fantastic. I cannot emphasize how much I liked the bibimbap here (it makes me think of that video of Dahyun shouting "bibimbap" to JYP, that's how good it was). Came with a couple of friends, right before hitting a lounge nearby and the amount of food, service and price were all just right. 10/10.
Tried their gamjatang which had lots of meaty bones. I wish there were more veggies inside the soup though. The side dishes were good. I went there early Sunday morning and the service was just okay-ish.
We were on a roadtrip from SF and craving some gamjatang. It was SO good. The kids got tongatseu and they liked it too. Impossible to find parking on a Friday night though for anything in this area so just plan ahead.
Servers are attentive and the food came really after the order. Food we ordered were gamja tang and tteokbokki! Highly recommend gamja tang!!
We had a great experience at Yangji Gamjatang. The food was delicious and the portions were incredibly generous—definitely more than enough for two people to finish. For the price, the amount of food you get is impressive, and everything we tried was satisfying. Overall, we really enjoyed our visit and would happily come back again.
Their gamjatang, yukaejang, katsu, soondae, bibim and mool naengmyeon are all 10/10!! Customer service was excellent every visit!
Had a great dinner. Was so stuffed when I finished my pork neck soup Love the quality and the atmosphere, is quiet and relaxing after a day of work, I can simply focus on eating and peacefully watching their TV and not having the urgency to finish quickly like others' restaurants next door. I have been here a few times to this restaurant and is well designed to dine in alone or in a group. The korean side dishes were tasty, but I might say their kimchi was not my favorite. I'm biased since I really like kimchi from this other place and not restaurant hasn't yet beating
Late Saturday night dinner with the squad. Everything was excellent! Spam fried rice, stone pot bibimbap, pork bulgogi, sweet and sour, and galbi jjim. Plus, several refills on the banchan.
